How the Bankruptcy Affects Automobile Dealers

There is no need to file claims with the bankruptcy court or the Chapter11 Trustee. At this time, the Trustee has not yet determined how certain reserve accounts maintained by API will be handled as part of the bankruptcy. In part, the determination as to how those reserve funds will be treated may depend on which insurance company backed the API contracts issued.

As for handling consumer repair, the treatment of these claims will depend on the insurance company that backed the individual vehicle service contracts. Please refer to the information for consumers section for more details.
